Lernziele / KompetenzenStudents are able to,
  • know working models and approaches within the arts;
  • learn about economic structures, funding, and contracts;
  • gain practical insight through studio visits.
InhalteThis course explores various working models and approaches within the arts, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse methodologies and practices employed by artists. These working models encompass a broad spectrum, ranging from studio-based production to people-centred procedures, research-based activities, and the provision of artistic services.

Studio visits will provide firsthand experience of different working environments and methodologies, allowing for a deeper understanding of how artists navigate and adapt to diverse contexts — in and beyond existing markets. In addition, we will examine other real-world examples and discuss recent research on the working conditions of artists. The course also includes discussions on fee and salary negotiations, commissioned work, funding opportunities, and legal frameworks
