| Inhalte | TonTanz (tone-dance) is a term first conceptualized by Valeska Gert in the 1920’s Weimar Republic. She proposed to dance with her voice and marks the transition from silent dancing to sounding dancing. Continuing this legacy, Jule Flierl invites to investigate voice as a part of dance practice and history, voice as a somatic and political tool, and voice as carrier of meaning beyond speech or singing. We will oscillate between somatic exercises linking and differentiating movement and voice, choreographic explorations around addressing the team play between the eyes or/and the ears of the audience, as well as questioning the notions of having a voice, giving voice or speaking up within the dance field and the public sphere. Jule Flierl is a dance and voice artist from Berlin. She develops practices that conceive of the voice as a dancer, translating dance into the auditory realm. Flierl collaborates with choreographer Antonia Baehr “Die Hörposaune” live / film (2022) and ToneDance artist Irena Z. Tomažin “U.F.O. - Hommage to Katalin Ladik” (2021). Jule graduated from SEAD Salzburg and holds an MA in choreography at EXERCE Montpellier. |
