Inhalte	The departure point for this course is a belief that light design, as well as dramaturgy, is neither independent aspect of the work, nor something artificially applied to a work in the last moment. What if, as Maaike Bleeker argues, dramaturgy (and I say also : creating light) is, more than anything else, rather a mode of looking? I invite you to 4 days of shared exercises in looking: Let’s delve into the practice of looking that requires however first of all an ability to see. And since there is no seeing without the light let’s understand that creating the space of visibility with the tools of lighting design becomes a relevant element of the creative process, worth to be looked at already at the beginning stages of creation. And let us reflect on what visual dramaturgy - a term coined originally within post-dramatic theatre field - might practically mean in context of performance and choreography. I’ll be happy to share with you insights of my practice as visual dramaturg and light designer, and introduce you to fundamentals of working with light as well as exchanging your ideas with light designers: Notions of creating a meaning and its contextualizing through (moving) stage images, of choreography and the autonomy of light - and last but not least, of the political dimension of lighting.
