Inhalte | This pool takes shape around the inter-idea between body of object and objectified body, in their exhibiting and performance qualities. By examining the figure of an object and the figure of the objectified body, we realise their significance within designated spaces, platforms such as stages and exhibiting venues. Exploration of the body's sculptural potential in performance and the performativity in the display of sculpture are the central theme of the workshop. Being aware of the significance of presenting in front of an informed audience, particular than the everyday performance of the political body. Throughout the workshop, the concepts of space will be evaluated, including spaces of expression and constructed spaces, as they relate to the object and the subject in object position. While acknowledging the existence of object of desire and subject of desire, how the sculptural qualities of the body can be put forward to orientate in and interact with space, drawing upon formal theories of sculpture and performance. Investigating the ways in which artists, in performance and sculpting, can transform the physical and conceptual spaces, reaching, showing new orientations by using possibilities of disorientation. Furthermore, the concept of reflection and its potential for creative reuse will be explored. Emphasis will be placed on cultivating an awareness of the image being reflected and expanding the possibilities of reflection as an exercise. Exploring artistic elements in performance and sculpture, and how these elements can evoke alternative meanings, cultural references, and narratives on a counter-reflection level to existing ones. Performing sculpture represents new artistic possibilities, where the concepts of object and body engather. About the lecturer: Ceylan Öztrük is an artist, lives and works in Zürich.
