Inhalte | Food is transforming us, be it through its absence or obsolescence or even magically. Eating is ritual, revenge, entertainment, and necessity. The transformation of food in fairy tales transcends the mundane and becomes a conduit for enchantment, morality, and personal growth. Whether it‘s a bewitched feast, a cursed banquet, or a nourishing gift, food in these stories symbolizes much more than sustenance. But was snowhites poisoning really due to an apple? Is there a backstory? How do Harry potters magic potions really taste – of rotten cabbage? Was the big feast of the beauty and the beast actually a mukbang? Join us on a journey through the realms of enchantment as we explore the transformative power of food in fairy tales. To immerse ourselves, we are taking a mushroom and herb workshop with a specialist from the region and also look into and try different food transformative materials. We will design a experience, a storyline, a speculative scenario, a belief system or a transformation by: collecting, mapping, sketching, exploring the aesthetics of supernatural food, crafting and combining the given materials from the forest. Our aim is to design an oral intake that goes beyond taste and appearance, weaving a narrative while also materializing the very essence of food cultures found in enchanted fairy tales. |
