| Inhalte | Playing opens up possiblities. By means of playing we can invent worlds and rules that stand in delightful opposition to the "real world". Children who play immerse themselves in their own worlds and experience the the wildest and most beautiful things in these safe spaces of the imagination. Is it possible to consider the art world as a playground? In this module, Claus Richter, together with the students, will try to celebrate the richness of playing and games as a possible artistic practice. In a mixture of lectures, practical experiments, and mini tasks, we will examine playing, toys, play worlds, role playing, dressing up, puppet theatre, bricolage, game rules, and much more. Claus Richter (*1971) lives and works in Cologne. After his studies at the HfG Offenbach he founded the performance group "Da Group" with Oliver Husain and Sergej Jensen. His works deal with escapism and transgression as a bulwark against an everyday life of alienation and fear. Exhibitions among others Kunsthalle Nürnberg, with Cosima von Bonin (2020), Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel (2019, Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich (2016), frieze projects London (with Sibylle Berg) (2016). |
