Lernziele / Kompetenzen
  • Learning about art and law as well as interdisciplinarity
  • Developing an awareness of the legal issues and ways of thinking that can influence art/artists.
Inhalte"Can I?" Is a question frequently asked by artists that is often not easy for a lawyer to answer.
Law is present everywhere: it protects but also constrains artists at the same time.
Students will be confronted with legal situations or legal systems relevant to their own art practice. Current cases on topics such as appropriation art, relationships with galleries, collectors or institutions will be discussed. Students will also be able to talk/ask about their own legal issues.
By means of concrete examples, students will be made aware of the complex relationship between art and law.
