| Inhalte | In search of new models for understanding choreography, we will, in this course, look at the DJ’s turntable as the intersection of organizing and producing music. Together with award-winning novelist and DJ Thomas Meinecke, we will drift - assembled around a set of decks - through different music genres that use the turntable as a creation tool in order to develop analogies of how to produce a choreographic track. We will explore the concepts of sample, remix, loop, pitch, scratch, bass line, BPM and many more to develop an understanding of choreography that originate from the turntable. The course is open to MA students from other departments. |
