Das Seminar möchte die heutige Bedeutung der Figur der Autor:in befragen, indem ihren Konturen in spezifischen (Kon)texten nachgegangen wird. Im ersten Teil des Seminars wird uns die historische Re-konstruktion der Autor:infigur von der Antike bis zur heutigen Zeit durch Barthes und Foucault führen. Im zweiten Teil werden wir die Relevanz eines Perspektivenwechsels von der Figur der Autor:in zu Praktiken der Autor:innenschaft prüfen. Das gemeinsame Lesen und Diskutieren von Referenztexten in unterschiedlichen Formaten und Konstellationen stehen im Mittelpunkt des Seminars.

The seminar aims to question the contemporary meaning of the figure of the author by retracing its contours in specific (con)texts. The first part of the course will be devoted to the genealogy of the concept and its historical contextualization from antiquity to the present time. The subsequent debates around the notion of the author, elicited toward the end of the last century by Barthes and Foucault, will then be subjected to a detailed examination. In the second part we will discuss the present significance of the authors' figures and assess the relevance of a perspective change focusing on various practices of authorship instead. Collective reading and discussing reference texts in different formats and constellations will be at the core of the seminar.
