Lernziele / Kompetenzen
  • Learning about 20th- and 21st-century art history, gender studies, avant-garde theory
  • Re-reading art history through the perspective of queer studies
  • Getting to know artistic positions in this field
InhalteThis seminar explores queer art history from its still veiled and coded beginnings – as a culture of the innuendo – in the 20th century, through its first openly celebrated pioneering expressions and life styles in the 1920s, to 1960s radical underground culture, to 1970s politization, and from 1980s AIDS-crisis related activism to contemporary practices of queer performativity in a time of renewed political repression. The seminar will include live conversations with queer artists and activists about their practice.
