Lernziele / Kompetenzen
  • Understanding of curatorial issues in dealing with works of contemporary art in collections.
  • Basic knowledge of the history of curating.
  • Activation and conservation of contemporary art by living and deceased artists.
  • Creating and reading (new) contexts of meaning in different exhibition contexts.
InhalteThe module introduces students to history and methods of curating. With loans from the Ursula Hauser Collection, under the supervision of the collection curator, Laura Bechter, the students and the curator of the exhibition space NEST (Dr. Gabrielle Schaad) will set up an exhibition, which will open during the module week. In this process, small groups take responsibility for each step in the curation and production of the exhibition. Throughout four compulsory preparatory meetings, we familiarise ourselves with the selected pieces and work on various tasks, e.g., the show's advertisement. Please note that you must attend ALL these preparatory meetings to pass the module!
