Inhalte | Portfolios are important tools for artists. In this workshop module, students create a portfolio, write texts, and try out talking about their work. We simultaneously reflect on the mediality and history of the portfolio, its possibilities and limitations. In addition, we explore how the portfolio can be adapted for different audiences and their expectations, and who they are. Martin Jaeggi (*1968) is an author, editor, curator, and lecturer. He studied film and video at the School of Visual Arts, New York, and the San Francisco Art Institute. Numerous publications on contemporary art and photography in newspapers, magazines and books. Nadia Graf (*1972) studied art education and computer art in Zurich and New York. For 10 years, she was head of the BFA. Her artistic work has evolved from photography to moving images and further to interactive installations. Coincidence, remembering, and forgetting in a digital society are topics she has repeatedly dealt with. In the meantime, analogue techniques have moved back into her focus: ceramics, screen-printing and fanzine culture are subjects she teaches in her seminars. Jörg Scheller (*1979) is professor of art history and permanent guest professor at the Poznan University of the Arts, Poland. His essays are regularly published a.o. in DIE ZEIT, NZZ, frieze magazine, Camera Austria. Besides, he is the singer and bassist of the metal duo Malmzeit and a fitness instructor. www.joergscheller.de Gabrielle Schaad (*1982) is an art historian (PhD), freelance art critic and research associate in the BA Fine Arts at the ZHdK. Her research concerns representational criticism, transcultural movements and performative practices between art, architecture and technology. She has taught theory of architecture at the ETH Zurich and the Technical University Munich and worked as curatorial assistant at Art Museum Lucerne and Kunsthaus Zurich. |
