| Inhalte | Dancers, choreographers and dance coaches spend most of their work life in a situation that we call „rehearsal“. Whereas in modern dance the rehearsal situation consisted mostly of repetitions of a step/text that was preconceived by the choreographer/author, this situation has shifted towards a process of a rehearsal being „a series of performances which always sets up new constellations of observation“ (Matzke, 2013). This arises the question of how we organize these sets - hence we will practice together how to prepare a rehearsal of quality to everybody involved. We will develop individual methods that suits the different artistic interests of the participants, looking at different ways of structuring the work hours we have together and dealing with the most important structural features of a rehearsal process such as decision making, logistics of organizing material, creative overload, collegial empathy and procrastination. „The only way to do it is to do it.“ (Merce Cunningham) |
