Inhalte | What drives your practice? What is the context of your work? Which references inform your working processes and outcomes? In this practice seminar we try to look more closely at these questions and how our work emerges in dialogue with specific discourses, contexts and questions. Your work and your research will be at the center of the practice seminar and we will also engage with exhibitions and other artists practices and concerns. About the lecturers: Yvonne Wilhelm is an artist (part of the artist duo knowbotiq) and professor, teaching at the ZHdK MFA, who has been experimenting with forms and medialities of social imaginaries, visual regimes, and epistemic disobedience, with a certain focus on queer-feminist and post-/decolonial aspects. Her practical focus is on post-digital time-based formats, installative-performative settings, and research-led art. Uriel Orlow’s practice is research-based, process-oriented and multi-disciplinary including film, photography, drawing and sound. He is known for single screen film works, lecture performances and modular, multi-media installations that focus on specific locations and micro-histories and bring different image-regimes and narrative modes into correspondence. His work is concerned with residues of colonialism, spatial manifestations of memory, blind spots of representation and forms of haunting. Orlow’s work has been presented at major survey exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, Manifesta, Sharjah Biennial, Moscow Biennial and others. Rabea Ridlhammer (DE, 1990) is an artist and graphic designer based in Zürich. Her work is often research based and collaborative, making use of and dealing with trivialized practices and minor aesthetic categories such as cuteness, comedy, craft or gossip. The bar is a recurrent element or site of her works, being both a space of social encounter and a place with a specific function outside of the art context. |
