  • Understanding of curatorial issues in dealing with works of contemporary art / Expanding awareness of relationships and dynamics in the art field.
  • Basic knowledge of the history of curating
  • Activation and conservation of contemporary art by living and deceased artists.
InhalteThis module introduces students to the history of curating, on the one hand, to the social tasks of and the responsibility towards art and artists on the part of private collections on the other. With loans from the Ursula Hauser Collection the students, Laura Bechter, and the curators of the exhibition space NEST (Gabrielle Schaad & Elsa Himmer) will set up an exhibition that will open during the module week. In the process, small groups will take responsibility for each step of the work relevant in the exhibition context. To this end, we will first work our way into an extensive installation work from the collection and understand its art historical contexts and significance.

Laura Bechter (*1975) is an art historian (M.A.) and the curator of the Ursula Hauser Collection and in charge of other international art collections. She lives and works in Zurich.
