Inhalte | After the first semester's introductory context module focused on the “artist” and the ideas and images associated with it, the focus in the second semester shifts to the art field in which art circulates, is exhibited, distributed, traded, collected, discussed and negotiated. The module looks at the structures, institutions, power vectors and discourses that shape the art field and their historical backgrounds, but also how artists can relate to them. This module provides an overview of the structures, institutions, and discourses that shape the art world today. Mareike Dittmer (*1978) studied cultural and communication sciences at the UdK Berlin and was for almost 20 years involved with frieze magazine, being the co-founder and co-publisher of frieze d/e and later the associate publisher of frieze. 2019-20 she was the director of Art Stations Foundation / Muzeum Susch. Since 2020 she’s the Director of Public Engagement for TBA21–Academy. |
