Lernziele / Kompetenzen
  • Detailed study and contextualisation of artists' books
  • Philosophical argumentation in constellation with own production
  • This enables the positioning of one's own publication projects
InhalteAre we talking about illustrated books, books that painters and artists design together with poets, or artists' books? In this seminar we explore which terms are productive for us. The seminar develops an overview of current research on artist’s books. We will read introductory texts and discuss examples. In a practical part we start to produce books.


About the lecturer:

Dr. Nils Röller is a professor at the Zurich University of the Arts. His research focuses on the relation between text, image and philosophy [https://www.iconographyofphilosophy.ch/] . In the Journal for Art, Sex and Mathematics [https://www.journalfuerkunstsexundmathematik.ch/] he publishes experimental posts in collaboration with artists and poets since 2006 Out of this Journal Research Projects have been developed and financed by Swiss National Science Foundation.
