Inhalte	(D) Kulturlandschaft – dieser Begriff ruft unmittelbar Bilder hervor: vielleicht vom Garten von Versailles, der Landschaft im Zürcher Oberland oder einer pittoresken Ansicht vom Rhein. Gehört die Furka auch dazu? Oder haben wir es hier mit einem anderen Typ Landschaft zu tun? So unterschiedlich die Vorstellungen, so unterschiedlich auch die Gebrauchsweisen oder Funktionen des Begriffs. In den Wissenschaften wird der Begriff anders definiert als in Verwaltung und Politik und wieder anders wird in der Kulturtheorie über ihn diskutiert. Hat dieser Begriff noch einen Sinn, wenn wir uns im Zeitalter des Anthropozäns befinden, in welchem der gesamte Planet durch die Spuren menschlicher Aktivitäten geprägt ist? Kulturlandschaften sind das übergeordnete Thema der Projektwoche, dem wir zusammen mit den Biolog:innen Erika Hiltbrunner und Christian Körner (beide ALPFOR; Uni Basel) sowie dem Kulturtheoretiker Boris Previsic (Urner Institut der Kulturen der Alpen, Uni Luzern) nachgehen werden. Inputs, Diskussionen, Wanderungen, informelle Gespräche und eure eigenen Beträge werden die Tage auf der Furka strukturieren. (E) Cultural landscape - this term immediately conjures up images: perhaps of the garden at Versaille, the landscape in the Zurich Oberland or a picturesque view of the Rhine. Is the Furka also one of them? Or are we dealing with a different type of landscape? As different as the ideas are, as different are the uses or functions of the term. The term is defined differently in the sciences than in administration and politics, and it is discussed differently again in cultural theory. Does the term still make sense when we are in the Anthropocene era, in which the entire planet is shaped by the traces of human activity? Cultural landscapes are the overarching theme of the project week, which we will explore together with biologists Erika Hiltbrunner and Christian Körner (both ALPFOR; University of Basel) and cultural theorist Boris Previsic (Uri Institute of Alpine Cultures, University of Lucerne). Inputs, discussions, hikes, informal talks and your own contributions will structure the days on the Furka. Participants Besides the ALPFOR team and the students and teachers of ZHdK, PhD students of the Urner Institut der Kulturen der Alpen of the University of Lucerne will take part in the project week. An active collaboration between participants from the different isniinsitutions is anticipated. Leistungsnachweis / Testatanforderung	(D) Um in der Vielfalt des Begriffes nicht unterzugehen, werden wir einige Wochen vor Beginn der Blockwoche Materialien zur Einarbeitung bereitstellen. Für einen Leistungsnachweis ist die Vorbereitung ebenso erforderlich wie die aktive Mitarbeit und die Entwicklung eines eigenen Beitrages vor Ort. Die Anmeldung zur Projektwoche ist verbindlich. Erwartet wird die aktive Teilnahme am gesamten Programm. (E) In order not to get lost in the diversity of the term, we will provide materials for familiarization a few weeks before the start of the block week. To pass the seminar, preparation is just as necessary as active participation and the development of one's own contribution on site. Registration for the project week is binding. Active participation in the entire program is expected.

Bemerkung	We will stay at the research station at the Furka Pass at 2440 m. Participants will arrive at Monday afternoon (latest for dinner and welcome at 19:00) and depart Saturday afternoon (ca. 14:00). ALPFOR is providing bed and food in youth hostel style. A cook will be organized and vegetarian food option is available, but vegan cannot be promised. However, everything is produced and farmed locally. Rooms will be shared among two to four participants. The rooms are in former military barracks, therefore basic but spacious. Please email your diary preferences or any allergies to jana.thierfelder@zhdk.ch by May, 15th. Travel Please make your own travel arrangement. The post bus station is called 'Hotel Furkablick'. Buses start from either Andermatt or Oberwald. There is good mobile phone connection, but limited WLAN. What to bring You will need your laptop, notebook for field notes and any other material you need for your work, waterproof mountain boots (NO sport shoes please), slippers for indoor, sun hat, sun cream, good weatherproof cloth, towel. Small bag (rucksack) for outdoor activities. There are wool-blankets, duvets, bed linen and pillow covers. Sleeping bags are welcome. Finance Students have to take care of half the cost for accommodation, food, and transportation (with Halbtax). It will be around CHF 210. By registering for the project week, students commit to participate during the whole week. The entry fees must be paid by 15.5. (you will receive a bill before this date). There will be a no-show fee in case participants pull out of the projectweek later than May, 15th.
