Lernziele / Kompetenzen• Understanding the functions and uses of a portfolio
• Creating a portfolio of your own work
• Gaining confidence in speaking about your own work
InhalteThis module looks at the mediality, history, and architecture of the portfolio as a powerful tool of (re-)presentation and reflection in artistic practice. Starting from a theoretical investigation on modes of distribution and dispersion in the field of art, we will discuss and apply strategies, techniques, tools to assemble a compelling dossier in a workshop-like environment. We will take into account different levels of artistic experience, aims, and biographies. To enhance our understanding of this artifact, the portfolio lab integrates several guests – experienced art professionals such as curators, designers, gallerists. In a second step, we will look at how to speak about one's work. The module furthermore provides an encounter with works by inspiring contemporary artists. The module will have inputs by several guests (graphic designer, art historians, gallerists, photographers).
