Lernziele / Kompetenzen | Ziel des Kurses ist das Erarbeiten einer eigenen Komposition (Performance oder Installation, Klangskultpure) mit bewegten Lautsprechern, die an der Werkstattpräsentation "Sound In Motion VII" am 27. Februar 2022 im Konzertsaal 3 aufgeführt wird. ____________________________ The aim of the course is to create your own composition (performance or installation) with moving loudspeakers, which will be performed at the workshop presentation "Sound In Motion VII" on 27 January 2022 in Concert Hall 3. |
Inhalte | Was passiert, wenn Lautsprecher bewegt werden? Welche gestalterischen Möglichkeiten bieten sich? Die Bewegung einer Schallquelle verursacht Amplituden- und Frequenzmodulation und Änderungen in der Klangräumlichkeit. Der Lautsprecher wird zur Punktschallquelle, deutlich hör- und lokalisierbar. Die Bewegung eines Lautsprechers bricht seine traditionelle Rolle als unsichtbaren Schallwandler auf. Sie rückt ihn in den Fokus und lässt ihn zum sichtbaren klingenden Objekt mit instrumentalem Charakter werden. Die optische Präsenz des Lautsprechers verlangt nach inszenatorischer Integration und ist eine Herausforderung, weil die aussermusikalische Inszenierung in einem angemessenen Verhältnis zum klanglichen Inhalt stehen muss. Durch die Bewegung wird der Lautsprecher sozusagen zum Mittelpunkt einer klang-räumlichen Inszenierung. Die Bewegung und die damit verbundenen akustischen Effekte sind wesentlich Elemente und können nicht durch Simulationen substituiert werden. Räumlichkeiten und Klangbewegungen werden nicht mit den etablierten Verfahren feststehender Lautsprecherarrays gemacht, sondern über das Bewegen von Lautsprechern realisiert. Die Möglichkeiten, wie Lautsprecherbewegungen ausgeführt werden, reichen von der manuellen Handhabung bis zur exakten Steuerung von Schrittmotoren. Die Kursteilnehmer*Innen erforschen mit einer eigenen kompositorischen Arbeit, welche Konsequenzen das Bewegen von Lautsprechern hat und welche Möglichkeiten sich eröffnen. Am Ende eines Kurses werden diese Arbeiten in der Werkstattpräsentation "Sound In Motion VII" aufgeführt. https://blog.zhdk.ch/soundinmotion/ ____________________________ What happens when loudspeakers are moved? What are the creative possibilities? The movement of a sound source causes amplitude and frequency modulation and changes in sound spatiality. The loudspeaker becomes a point sound source, clearly audible and localizable. The movement of a loudspeaker breaks up its traditional role as an invisible sound transducer. It brings it into focus and turns it into a visible sounding object with instrumental character. The visual presence of the loudspeaker requires integration into the staging and is a challenge because the extra-musical staging must be in an appropriate relationship to the sound content. Through movement, the loudspeaker becomes, so to speak, the center of a sound-spatial staging. The movement and the associated acoustic effects are essential elements and cannot be substituted by simulations. Spaces and sound movements are not made with the established procedures of fixed loudspeaker arrays, but are realized by moving loudspeakers. The possibilities of how loudspeaker movements are performed range from manual handling to the exact control of stepper motors. With their own compositional work, the course participants explore the consequences of moving loudspeakers and the possibilities that arise.
