Inhalte | Away from the studio, the installation and conception of one’s artistic ideas and output into public space forms a vital component of one’s artistic practice. The venturing of work out of the private and safe setting of production and intimate critique is, perhaps erroneously, veiled with psychological risk and reward. As artists we grow and learn from the way our practices are received by viewers and how they can be situated, enhanced and altered by their placement within real space. Finding comfort and practice in this Janus aspect of the production of art invites new ways of viewing our artistic visions and forces a healthy amount of reality onto our dreams. We will explore strategies of exhibition and production, how ideas and works may be altered for specific spaces, or how we may alter given spaces with works and ideas. How does one continue the production of art and the exhibition of it during times where planning is unstable? What new opportunities and strategies may be invented and discovered? The course will culminate with the production and execution of works into public space, covering realization, installation and promotion of our individual concepts.
