Inhalte | Visual philosophy starts with the insight that pictures and graphics are forms of thinking. The course introduces into seminal readings to understand this insight with the following steps: Day I: Writing and thinking Day II: Diagrammatical turn Day III: Titles as tools - Reading art Journals (Frieze, e-flux, Parkett) Day IV: Visual Forms of Knowledge Production Day V: Asemic Writing - Art, Philosophy, and Contemporary Poetry The course will include additional guests. About the teacher: Dr. Nils Röller is Professor for Media and Cultural Theory. In his practice he explores contemporary poetic strategies (romanform.ch). Currently he prepares a Research Project on Visual Philosophy (www.iconographyofphilosophy). 2019 NR curated the exhibition "Zellenleben" and the symposion "Abständiges" at the Kunstraum Kreuzlingen as part of this Research. |
