Lehrform | This workshop aims to enrich the participants’ stage vocabulary and working methods in physical, visual and puppet theatre which may lead to the creation of new work in the genre of object theatre, and at the same time equip them with a new methodological and philosophical perspective for their artistic toolbox, which they can integrate in their own work as performers or creators the way it serves them. |

Inhalte | In this workshop, we will explore our bodies and objects and the relation between them in a new way. We will enter the world of objects of all kinds and sizes, and see what happens when we treat them not only as a prop or stage design, but when they themselves become the focus of the attention on stage, and get a life and story of their own. At the same time, we will get to look at our own body as a prop, a scenography and a material to play with and will research how it can serve and amplify the object, or find out what kinds of stories can tell the relation between the object and our body. This workshop will mainly be practical, and will consist of some videos and theoretical talks, but mainly different small exercises that will be done in solos/duos/trios, and then discussed in depth in the feedback rounds. As the workshop will progress, it will grow from small exercises into bigger ones, in which we explore the creation process in object theatre in greater detail, from the initial idea to how to research it and how to choose what to focus on in the developing phase, as well as what we are looking for when we think of the end of a presentation. |
