InhalteThe aim of the course is to get a glimpse of different dramaturgical strategies in contemporary theatre. What role does dramaturgy play in political theatre? What is the place of dramaturgy in devised projects? How can we develop dramaturgy in productions with a real-life, fictional, or textual basis? How can dramaturges collab-orate with actors?

Different dramaturgical tools come into discussion: how can we make the front-page news of a newspaper? How can silence be used? How can we spark discussions in society? How can we write texts without using our own words? How can the overall dramaturgy of a theatre group be built up?

The lectures move from political to improvisational theatre, from Brecht to institutional criticism, from opera to art projects.
