| Inhalte | In this course, we will work hypothetically through the different phases of a dance production in a fast-forward motion: From the first conceptual idea through imaginary rehearsals to the assumed premiere. Hereby, we focus on re-occurring problems in the production of dance and we will confront these problems with different methods of problem solving. Furthermore, we will engage in the logistics of a dance production as an act of administrative choreography in itself: What do we do if our ideas are bigger than our budget or how do I sell my art without selling myself? As a result of this course, we will understand that being a dancer doesn’t stop when we exit the studio - it’s a chosen way of life that we need to reflect, praise and take care of. Jochen Roller (Berlin) works since 20 years as freelance choreographer. Since 2018 he teaches at ZHdK in BA Contemporary Dance and MA Dance. |
