Pool II: October School Delhi 2018
The October School 2018 in Delhi focuses on the topics justice, politics, public sphere and Indian society through the lens of Contemporary Public Art in a practical and research based approach.
In cooperation with students from Akita, Delhi, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Mexico City, and Zurich.

Voraussetzungen | Application with dossier, letter of interest, and cv until June 2, 2018. Selection of participants by jury. Attendance at preliminary seminar at ZHdK and at workshops in Delhi. No vaccination is needed. |

Lernziele / Kompetenzen | Knowledge on challenges of the Indian society, current debates in contemporary public art, critical thinking towards concepts of justice and politics et. al. Artistic approaches and skills to initiate and influence public debates. |
Inhalte | What means liberty and individualism in a country with more that one billion people? How can art contribute to the public debates on peoples rights of minorities? Are there strategies in defending freedom of speech through artistic practice? Are there problems and constraints that people from Zurich, Mexico City and Delhi share? And may certain strategies be generalized in order to use them in different contexts? The October School Delhi 2018 focuses on the topics of justice, politics, public sphere and Indian society through the lens of contemporary public art with a practical and research based approach. The October School is the backbone of an international network of art universities in Akita, Japan; Delhi, India; Hong Kong, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Mexico City, Mexico; and Zurich. This year, students from each university participate at the October School in Delhi. |
