ZielgruppenTwelve students from the Bachelor of Arts & Media from the Zurich University of the Arts (Switzerland) and twelve students from Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography (Armenia) will participate in this joint art project settled in the Artschool of Chambarak, Armenia.
InhalteStarting point of the excursion is the gathering of all the students and lecturers involved in Yerevan in the State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography where we encounter/exchange views on our respective art practices, collective and individual understandings, the political situations of the countries where we come from.
We will then travel together to Chambarak in the periphery of the country. For two weeks, we will live together in Armenian-Swiss mixed groups in this decentralized constellation and work on different artistic projects concerned with the local situation and one's own position.
Within the artistic projects in Chambarak, an experimental and process based approach has priority over end results. The artistic processes will be accompanied and supervised by four lecturers (Zurich, Yerevan). There will be a special focus
● on reflecting the artistic work in the periphery of Armenia and Chambarak in particular (including the daily life, the main concerns of the inhabitants, the political situation)
● on a sensible collaboration under different cultural and social preconditions: between artists, hosts and local people
● on different understandings and traditions of art / art education / the role of art

During the semester, we will reflect on the experiences and the projects we have developed in Armenia and continue the exchange with the students and lecturers from Yerevan in order to develop a joint finishing of the semester.

This project is in cooperation with Chambarak Art School, Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, artasfoundation and Zurich University of the Arts.
