| Lernziele / Kompetenzen | Students will be introduced step by step to the theory and practices of the Six Viewpoints. The aim of the workshop is to train students in the use of the basic materials of Space, Shape, Time, Emotions, Movement and Story in separate practices so that the use of these materials can be integrated into their work as performers. When the materials are separated in this manner, the options available to a performer and maker of theater increase exponentially. |
| Inhalte | In this course, two subjects are emphasized. Increased ability to improvise and theoretical concepts of performance as a soloist and in an ensemble. This section of the workshop will include presence work (the ability of a performer to simply be maximally present on stage), horizontal composition (a non-hierarchical approach to making theater) and new sources for stories (stories that run backwards, four different stories thrown together, finding stories out of the smallest most un-glamorous sources). |
