| Inhalte | To enact the movement of the text toward the set is first to consider the theatrical dream contained in the work at hand and what possibilities it holds for the director. Our choice will turn to plays written over the last fifty years. The study of texts will revolve around a question or an approach: a character/figure; monological form/choral form; and in particular, the theatre of the real (“théâtre du réel”). The course is divided into two stages: morning/afternoon. Every morning we will study a set of two plays: collective reading, analysis of the issues, environment and writing context, complementary materials: staging documents, interviews, references (visual arts, films...) ... The next day in the afternoon one student will tackle a sketch of about ten minutes based on a text of his or her choice picked from those studied the day before. This work in the afternoon, that I wish to be playful and collective, will be the occasion to extend in action the exchanges around the issues from the plays at hand. |
