| Inhalte | The course will have as its field of experimentation a handbook of good manners dating from the late nineteenth century, which lists the rules of etiquette of the time: Jules Clément’s Treatise on Politeness and Etiquette: A New Guide to Get to Know and Practice all Worldly Manners, to Behave According to the Rules of Propriety as Well as in the Main Circumstances of Life such as : Birth, Marriage, Burial. Accompanied by three actors, we will search together how to play, replay or elude these archives on stage. A first morning will be devoted to a discussion on what is at stake when engaging in theatrical work from archives. The other two will lead to practical experiments from each of the participants. |
