In 2006 he was invited to Beijing, where he played a recital and gave two Alexander workshops, connecting the technique to Double Bass playing; all events were recorded for broadcast on national television. Peter is returning to Beijing for a week of workshops at The China Conservatory in December 2017. Peter’s early career was in Opera orchestras, with positions at Teatro La Fenice, in Venice, English National Opera in London then toured with Kent Opera under the baton of Roger Norrington. Since the 1990s Peter has played mostly with small chamber groups. He is a founder member of the Schubert Ensemble of London, winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s award for ‘Best Chamber Group’. Peter and his wife, Judith Kleinman, wrote ‘The Alexander Technique for Musicians’ for Bloomsbury.
