| Inhalte | Since critics noted the 'return of the body' in the 1980s, society has seen the emergence of virtual bodies as well as cloned bodies and imitative bodies of advanced robotics. Is the human species replacing its biology with synthetic and technical 'children' of the brain? In what ways is the theatre reacting to these changes? To what extent are they expressed in the form termed 'physical theatre'? In this [three-day] Campus Module we will examine various concepts and models of the body, social developments and their reflection in the performing arts. The aim of the course is to become more aware of the starting point of theatre: the appearance of a body in front of an audience. What body? |
