| Inhalte | The Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) looks back on a long period of international activities outside Europe, especially in India and China. To develop shared knowledge and experience, the "WUZU" and "Common Stage" Project (China) and the "Welcome2India" (India) enabled international contacts amongst students and staff of different Universities. These formats of cooperation, incorporated project work, lessons of learning, travelling and intercultural exchange, proofed to be highly sustainable and valuable. Aimed on intercultural experience and -practice, as well as providing a deeper insight in the respective design culture and design research by teaching and learning. One of the achievements is the acceptance, the respect and the understanding of other (design) cultures and languages, behaviours and histories. IDSS offers students and faculties rich and diverse intercultural experiences including a critical reflection. Approaching a new stage, we are developing a new format, incorporating research, self-management and exchange of knowledge and skills within the discipline of design and design education. The IDSS focuses on experiences in the respective cultures, by working in an international frame within intercultural mixed groups. It combines topics with methods - research with practice - experience with knowledge. Faculties from all participating Universities are supervising the students and will provide their experiences. Invited academics, professionals - excursions and visits widen the program. A preparation before the travel is a vital part. Even it is design related, the topics are interesting and open for all artistic faculties.
