InhalteSomeone else sells my work! Are you taken to court for using found footage? Are you distributing your work through open acess channels?

How to assert copyright in the youtube age? How to use material and ideas in a copyright bound environment? Do artists have to hide their inspirations?

This symposium addresses:
  • Copyright and open access histories
  • Rights, contracts, and agreements
  • Public domain, creative commons, open access
  • Deepfakes, memes, Techno Viking, etc.
Copyright issues have become more and more complicated and controversial as advances in society and modern technology have been made. The symposium provides information and discussion opportunities through keynotes, presentations, and workshops.

Selected students will be trained in advance to take up the moderator roles throughout the symposium. The two-day preparational crash course (dates will follow) on moderation and messaging skills will be open for other MFA students.
